Aircraft information: The
3Xtrim is a single-engine, two-seater monoplane with braced high wing,
conventional controls and fixed three-wheel landing gear. The
front-mounted engine is coupled to a two-blade or three-blade
(depending on version) adjustable pulling propeller. A spacious, heated
and ventilated cockpit with seats in one row and a large baggage
compartment make the airplane comfortable, silent and well furbished.
Access is easy through doors on each side opening upwards and supported
in this position by gas springs. Fixed three-wheel landing gear with
castoring front wheel, composite main spring and hydraulic disc brakes,
ensures safe take-off and landing on all types of airport surfaces,
grass included. The Ballistic Rescue System (BRS5) provides protection
for the passengers and aircraft at altitudes above 30 m and speeds up
to 235 kmph (145 mph). The aircraft structure is fabricated from
composites based on epoxy resin with glass and carbon fibre. This
totally composite structure reduces necessary maintenance work to
pre-flight inspection and cleaning. The aircraft fully complies with
the JAR-VLA requirements and has a Type Certificate of Very Light
Airplane. Excellent flight characteristics make this aircraft a perfect
choice for primary schooling, training, travelling, and recreation. The
aircraft is just as suitable for patrol flights and aerial photography.
Flying is precise, easy, safe, and pleasant. Thanks to the incorporated
technical solutions, components and materials, operational costs are
low and comparable with a medium-class passenger car. A three-years
manufacturer\'s warranty is standard.
The aircraft is manufactured in three versions: * ULA - \"Ultra Light
Aircraft\" * AULA - \"Advanced Ultra Light Aircraft\" * VLA - \"Very
Light Aircraft\" Text and photo from: www.3xtrim.pl |

The Seastar, whose design now go back for over 10 years, originates from France and Brazil.
Seastar, a variation from the original concept, has a larger enclosed
cockpit designed especially with the North American pilot size and
requirement in mind. The hull is wider and slightly longer from the
previous models and an improved step in the hull, enhances water
take-off capability greatly. A longer lower wing with the fuel tank in
the wings adds to flying safety and overall performance. These
additional design changes have made the Seastar the most advanced and
desirable amphibian airplane on the market today. There are nearly one
hundred units Seastar type aircraft flying throughout the world today.
Currently the Seastar is only available as a kit, but soon, AAC
Amphibian Airplanes of Canada LTD will be supplying the North American
and Worldwide markets with the ready to fly Light Sportsplane version
of the Seastar, to be known as the SeaLoon. The complete "Seastar fast
build kit" consisting of all structural noble hardware and components
will still be available for the foreseeable future.
Our goal is to have a good relationship with Seastar owners and
builders, similar to that of the "Airstream Organization", and to build
a product with utmost emphasis on safety and reliability. We will
strive to promote future products, get-togethers and air ventures
worldwide. We look forward to having each Seastar owner as a personal
friend and potential representative of the Seastar fraternity with good
long-lasting relationships with everyone worldwide.

Aircraft information: As
early as the 1920s, Mr. Orland G. Corben believed that flying should
not be a rich man's luxury. He saw the need for an aircraft that was
properly designed, inexpensive to build, and safe and easy to fly. To
recognize this goal, Mr. Corben created the first homebuilt airplane,
the Baby Ace. In 1954, Paul Poberenzy, who a year earlier had founded
the still fledgling Experimental Aircraft Association, built a Baby Ace
aircraft as a three part series in Mechanix Illustrated. The success of
the articles caused an explosion in the homebuilt movement. The Baby
Ace that Mr. Poberenzy built for Mechanix Illustrated is now in the EAA
AirVenture Museum.
Today, you can build and own an aircraft with a history almost as old
as powered flight itself. The Ace Aircraft Company offers plans and
kits for the single place Baby Ace Model D and the two place Junior Ace
Model E aircraft, and we are currently pursuing FAA certification to
build Ace aircraft ready to fly away. And all Ace aircraft meet the
standards for the new Light-Sport Aircraft category. Indeed, Mr.
Corben's dream in the 1920s of well designed, inexpensive, and safe
homebuilt aircraft is still being realized today.

DAR-21 airplane, is a two-seat vehicle, used a wide range of engines
from two stroke ROTAX engine – 582 series, 65 HP to 4 cylinder 4 stroke
Jabiru 2200 - 80 HP.
Aluminium alloys 1050, 2024, 3105 and 6061 are the basic buiding materials of the DAR-21 airplane.
DAR – 21 S is based on 2024 and 6061 aluminum alloys.
DAR21 Tropic is based on using the soft 1050 and 3105 aluminum alloys.
These materials are softer, but with better anticorrosion quality.
The welded metal parts are made of lowcarbonic structure steel 4130,
while turnery and milling parts are made of structure steel 4340.
The cabin is fully closed, with tandem seats /one behind the other/.
There is only one door on the right side giving access both to seats
and cargo sector. All necessary navigation and engine control
instruments are set in one panel. The operating of airplane is double
and lets you control the vehicle both from front and rear seats.

Aircraft information: DAR
Speedster The design team of Aeroplanes DAR, has the ambitious goal to
modify the existing models DAR-21 First serious change is the new wing.
The new wing increases the airplane performance. The result indicated
17-20 percent better wing performance than the original design. Second
serious change is made in the fuselage. The structure of airframe is
new with reduced weight, while increasing the rigidity. Again, as with
the wings, the new advanced technology help to achieve better results
and to keep the general outside lines of the machine, because this
design was very well accepted by the customers. The DAR Speedster
continues this design line, with ‘small” elegant changes. Many details
have been redesigned and improved, giving a more ennoble view of the
fuselage and airplane. All of these "small" changes have also
aerodynamic reason and we have eliminated most of the parts that
produced addition
al drag. |

Aircraft information: Although
a modern aircraft in concept the Aeroprakt A22 Foxbat uses a very
conventional method of construction in riveted aluminium. Each kit is
supplied with the fuselage, wings, tailplane, fin and all control
surfaces pre-riveted.
The pictures show the airframe kit exactly as it comes out of the
crate. The remaining riveting work is confined to final fitting of the
floor-pan (which is already "cleco'd" in place) and securing the fin
and various mounting brackets and webs to the bare fuselage monocoque.
Three special holding cradles are required during this stage of the
construction and we provide these on free loan. The rest of the work
consists of fitting the engine and ancillaries, the control mechanisms
(torque tubes, push rods, bell-cranks, etc) all of which are factory
finished, anodised and ready to install. No fabrication of components
is required (each component bearing surface even has a pressed in
aerospace-quality rose-joint).
After installing the under-carriage and wheels the final finishing
involves covering and painting, and fitting the instrument panel, etc.
A A-22 Foxbat kit can be assembled in 500 hours by one person, or less
with an assistant. One person can complete most of the assembly but
some jobs will need an extra pair of hands. With good planning a
largish domestic garage will be a big enough workshop space to complete
all the sub-assemblies including covering and painting. Obviously a
larger space is required for the complete assembly of the aircraft
although that could be done outdoors prior to final Inspection and
transport to the airfield for test flying. A folding wing option is
available.

Aircraft information: With
the engine choice contrary to many other manufacturers another path was
taken:
We selected a modified BMW fuel injection engine, which has its origin
in the building of motorcycles. This engine of in the UL scene admitted
Trike manufacturer "Take off" reequipped. The special characteristics
of this engine generation are:
- standard fuel injection system
- catalyst optionally possible
- smaller consumption
- better launch characteristics
- favorable mass production technology
- no carburetor icing
The engine in aerostyle Breezer can convince also by its calm, strong
run, as well as its pleasant clay/tone
With a view under the Cowling immediately the clear and low-maintenance
installation of the engine as well as the associated aggregates is
noticeable.
Since however many ultralight aircraft prefer the Rotax 912, in 2001 a
Aerostyle Breezer was equipped with a Rotax 912 S and certified. Other
engine concepts are at present in the development, and/or in planning -
let surprise itself!

The Wittman Tailwind is an historic aircraft design. It first flew in
1953, a few weeks before the birth of the Experimental Aircraft
Association. It demonstrated exceptional flight efficiency,
incorporating a number of aerodynamic design features which Steve
Wittman had gleaned from his extensive air racing experience.
Prospective homebuilders at that time were both incredulous and
inspired by the Tailwind. It was the stuff of which dreams were made
and can be credited with helping the fledgling EAA to grow. Jack Cox's
excellent history of the Tailwind was published in the September 1993
issue of Sport Aviation.1 |

Aircraft information: This
aerodynamic, cantilevered, low wing sport pilot aircraft of mixed
construction can transport two people over 800 statute miles at a
maximum cruising speed of 155 mph. And it all begins with a quick 200
to 400 foot ground roll on a grass or concrete strip. Before you know
it, you're in the air, rapidly accelerating toward a maximum climb rate
of nearly 1,700 feet per minute!
But that's not all because, with the history behind the ATEC Zephyr, you have peace of mind.
Developed in collaboration with renowned Czech aircraft designer,
Oldrich Olsansky, the ATEC Zephyr Sport Pilot airplane has an
impeccable safety record since its debut over six years ago. With over
110 units plying the skies of Australia, Europe and North America, the
plane is thoroughly proven and exceptional from a reliability and
economic standpoint.
What's more, buyers have two paths to choose from when it comes to
buying one. Sport Pilot, Amateur-built (Experimental in the U.S.) or
Ultralight (Canada only; Advanced Ultralight pending). By opting for
the first category, operators can enjoy all of the benefits of a
fully-certified aircraft minus outrageous acquisition, operating and
maintenance costs. Moreover, they can even train student pilots in a
flying club environment. For those who no longer qualify for the
standard aviation medical, the Ultralight and Sport Pilot categories
less restrictive requirements may be the answer. Either way, one
thing's sure. With an ATEC Zephyr, you no longer have to sacrifice
performance and flexibility for affordability.
The MTOW is 472.5 kg in the European ultralight version and in US the
LSA version of the Zephyr allows 550 kg. The LSA Zephyr is called
Zephyr 2550.

Aircraft information: The
ATEC 321 FAETA is an aerodynamically refined cantilever low-winged all
composit aircraft with a high content of carbon fibre. The ultralight
modification is a basic one of the project series of very light sport
planes of a derived design. Swift and manoeuvrable aircraft providing
over standard comfort for a two-person crew and a safe sensation in the
spacious cockpit. The low-weight but rigid airframe makes possibility
equipe aircraft with a high-speed parachute rescue system without a
drastic loss of payload. The adequate wing area together with an
efficient slotted flap give the plane be able fly with an extremely low
speed.
The WING is a reinforced shell of a carbon-fibre sandwich. The tapered
backswept wing of a SM 701 airfoil along the all span. The all
composite main wing spar is equipped with carbon flanges designed for a
high safety factor. The high efficient slotted flap has been developed
using latest methods of computer design engineering. All external
details of wing like flap hinges, slots, Pitot tube attachement, wing
tips have been shaped with respect for minimum air drag.
The FUSELAGE is a carbon-fibre shell braced by multi-layer wooden
bulkheads. The cross-section is elliptic with pure wing fillets and a
spacious cabin. The hinged perspex canopy can swing upwards and
backwards. The engine which is in the front part of the fuselage is
separated by the firewall, to which the engine bearer attachment and
the steerable nosewheel are attached.
The TAIL UNIT all composite arranged in T-shape. The tapered horizontal
tail surface with an elevator is constructed in a way similar to that
of a wing. The tapered vertical tail surface is a monolithic part of
the fuselage shell. The rudder suspended from the last fuselage
bulkhead is completely of composites.
The LANDING GEAR is a fixed three-wheeled construction with a steerable
nose wheel. The main gear is constructed as a pair of leaf springs of
composites. The front leg is made of composites and metal tubes. The
main wheels are equipped with disc brakes. The size of main tyres:
350x120 mm, while that of front tyre is 300x100 mm. All wheels have
aerodynamic fairing.
The CONTROL. Dual control of all the rudders. The ailerons, flaps and
elevator are controlled through the control rods and levers, the rudder
through the steel wire ropes. All the control attachments are situated
within the airframe. The important checking points in the wings are
equipped with inspection holes with a perspex covering.
The ENGINE of standard option is ROTAX 912 UL 80 HP or ROTAX 912 SUL
100 HP that drives a FITI three or two blade propeller ground
adjustable. The engine bed attachment is welded of the
first-rate-quality CrMo steel tubes.
The FUEL SYSTEM consists of the fuel tank integrated in the fuselage
and the piping connection equipped with a sediment bowl and a drain
plug. The pressure of the fuel is measured by a fuel-pressure gauge.
The ISTRUMENTATION consists of basic flight, engine and navigation
checking instruments. The static and dynamic pressure is taken from the
Pitot tube attached below the port wing.

Aircraft information: Mercedes
engine in serial aircraft
Fk-Lightplanes is the first manufacturer to offer this engine system in
a serial aircraft. For this purpose, a special model, the FK9 Smart was
created.
This design is not just an FK9 fitted with a Mercedes Smart engine. It
is rathermore a complete package embodying its own special philosophy
and technology and echoing in this respect the idea of the smart
automobile.
This concept uses the lightweight FK9 Utility airframe, with more
sophisticated paintwork and furnishings than the basic version. The
streamlined technology implemented includes practical systems and
instruments; superfluous details have been deliberately excluded.
Configuration and equipment are serial installations but the plane
comes ready to "fly away"!
This allows a serial price that is wide below a similarly equipped
Rotax FK9. All this, not to forget the significantly lower fuel
consumption and much less expensive maintenance.
After all - it's "smart"...
