- How is it done
The QSL cards that I print is always in format 90
x 140 mm and printed on double coated paper named SilverBlade. The weight
is 240g and the cover side of the QSL card is coated with blank sealing
lacquer.
The printing method is waterless offsett printing and we use 200 Lpi raster
on the QSLs. The color and detail reproduce in the printing is very high!
We are talking about really high printing quality!
I want you to do the layout work of the QSL in programmes
like CorelDraw, Illustrator or PhotoShop. DON`T use word or publisher.
It won´t work at all for us! All the pictures should be in 400 dpi
when they are in the format of 90 x 140 mm. You will get the best results
of the scanning if you use a slide film but paper photos will also work.
If you don´t have the knowledge of scanning for printing, ask me
or a professional scanner operator for help.
Save your work in EPS or Tiff and remember to attach all fonts
and photos. Then save all on a CD and post it to me. If You prefer
to mail the files to me, you have to split your file into several smaller
parts with eg. WinRar. DO NOT mail me files larger than 2 Mb. The cover
photoof the QSL are about 14 Mb when correctly scanned in CMYK.
If you want me to handle the scanning and layout workp
of your QSL, I will do it for a cost of only 50 USD! The scanning is
done by proffesional scanner operators with professional equipment.
That will guarantee the best possible prepress quality. You will receive
a proof of the QSL in PDF-format via e-mail and if all is OK for you
I send the QSL-card for printing as soon as possible.
So, if you want the best possible quality in your QSL card, then send
the photos and all the other information you want printed on the QSL-card
to me and I will do the prepress work for you. By experince I know that
the result usually gets better if we are doing all the prepress work
for you!
A condition for my low price is that we always print
nine QSL cards with the same plates. Because of that there can be delivery
times up to two months. If we should print each QSL card separately
there would be prices about 1000 USD for 2000 QSL cards and that is
unreasonable prices! The best thing to do if you want to shorten my
delivery times of the QSLs is just to send your order as soon as possible
and tell your friends to also order!
This QSL service is almost a volunteer work from me and I dont make
big money from it. It is just a service to provide high quality QSL
cards for hams. We would call it HAM SPIRIT!
